Cera Products and Sons of Thunder Save Lives in Zambia, Africa with CeraLyte®

Cera comes to the rescue of HIV-positive orphans with 305 cases of CeraLyte

Zambia, Africa (November 2, 2004)--Maryland-based biotechnology company Cera Products, producer of rice-based rehydration products, has donated 305 cases of CeraLyte to Sons of Thunder, whose vision is to feed Africa by training Africans to feed themselves .

Roberta Retit of Beall Ministries, Inc.--the organization behind the Sons of Thunder program. spoke at length regarding Cera Products' donation and the ways in which it will help the Province of Zambia.

"Cera products' donation of 305 cases of CeraLyte will be used to restore and save many lives in Zambia, Africa," she said. "We operate a 10,000 acre farm in the Southern Province of Zambia, which includes an orphanage, primary school, medical clinic, farm training program and various outreach ministries. We operate one of the only orphanages accepting infants, of which many are arriving sick, often HIV positive and on the verge of death. We are able to nurse many of these babies and children back to health because of the CeraLyte product.

As a result of HIV, malaria and other illnesses, many of the children are struggling with diarrhea and dehydration. We have been able to use CeraLyte to control the diarrhea and increase hydration, which allows them to begin taking food again. Without this product, the likelihood of more babies and children dying would increase."

Effective for both children and adults, CeraLyte is the only product in its class available in ready-to-drink liquid and ready-to-mix powder forms. It will be available at local pharmacies throughout the United States. Information about CeraLyte can be found at www.ceraproductsinc.com, or by calling 1.888.CERALYTE. Cera’s other products (CeraSport ®, CeraVet® and CeraVacx®) are still available at www.ceraproductsinc.com, along with international distribution for CeraLyte.
